false gods
To who or what have I
attached a God Image?
When I create a thing that
is bigger than life, I will
eventually need to break
it down in order to
understand it, and return it
to balance.
I do it with...rejection
and criticism (relationships),
gossip and drama (famous people),
disappointment and
expectation (children),
blame and victimization
(parents), scandal and
paranoia (politics),
judgment and betrayal
(spiritual leaders), despair,
opposition and war
(in the name of religion).
How much more fulfilling
might it be to make peace
by honoring the God inside,
and knowing the
indestructible certainty
of that wholeness?
